When you need to get everyone in the same digital room simultaneously, nothing organizes people better than a scheduled date and time. Now, every Microsoft Teams user can schedule meetings in the app starting from today.

The New Scheduling Feature in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams users managed to bend the software giant's arm over on the Microsoft Teams UserVoice forum. The Teams UserVoice forum is a place for users to post what they want to see added to the service, and others can vote up existing suggestions to show their support.

A UserVoice member called Alex created a thread called "Add Calendar to free version, allow members to schedule conference calls." In terms of popularity, the feature only received 477 votes at the time of writing. That's a far cry from the 1400+ votes for the request to lower the amount of RAM that Microsoft Teams uses.

However, just because it wasn't the most popular feature request, doesn't mean that Microsoft didn't listen. In fact, in the thread requesting the calendar functionality, a Microsoft Teams engineer also called Alex replied:

Thank you for your feedback. Agenda view within the Meetings app has rolled out to 100 percent of users! You can now schedule meetings ahead of time and see all of your meetings in a scheduled view from your Meetings app!

Alex then links to a tutorial on the Microsoft Support website that covers how to schedule a meeting.

This is a fantastic move from Microsoft as big businesses move out of the office and into a work-from-home model. It's much easier to corral people when everyone's in the same building instead of sitting at home trying to squeeze in another Netflix special before work.

By making it easy to work from home, Microsoft is solidifying its position as a key player in the remote work market. Its efforts have earned it some huge profits thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that momentum is unlikely to stop soon.

A Handy Update, Scheduled for Today

If you want to schedule your meetings in Microsoft Teams, there's good news—you already can. As of today, you can add meetings to the Agenda view and keep everyone in the loop. We'll have to wait and see what else the software giant has in store for Microsoft Teams.

Now that the next meeting is scheduled and ready to go, why not touch up on the video conferencing essentials? It's always a good idea to put on a professional air during business voice calls, even when you're working from home.
